In Faery Folk Medicine tradition It was often said that the Faeries would shoot their flint-tipped arrows or Faery Darts at humans that had somehow wronged them. Being struck by one of these was thought to cause illness, disability, or sometimes even death. This was often referred to as being “elf-shot”. These darts were often aimed at the hands or feet, especially the fingers and caused joint swelling, redness and inflammation. Curing this condition required a Faery Doctor who would perform “a cure” often consisting of prayers or incantations and the use of a special herbal salve.

In our modern time, it is my belief and understanding that many of these afflictions were in fact not physical, but spiritual in nature. This is part of the practice of being a Faery Doctor, to release spiritual energies, or Earth bound spirits, and act as the mediator between human and Faery. It is truly a blending of Folk Magic and Shamanic practices. This powerful salve is an indispensable tool in releasing negative energies and treating afflictions on an energetic and spiritual level. This is a tool used more then any other within my Faery Doctoring Class and the recipe to this amazing salve is given in that class as well. Packaged in a 1oz glass amber bottle. Please note that the glass jar may be clear or amber depending upon what jars I have on hand.
